Role: Mainframe Systems Engineer Location: Remote (EST/CST only) Duration: 12+ Months contract role Must have: Mainframe experience: 7-10 years Interfacing with different teams and levels of stakeholders Good Communication and interpersonal skills Looking for CICS and TCP/IP, MQ Messaging experience. Preferences include IMS/TM. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field--preferred but not required. Okay with experience over degrees. 5+ years of experience in z/OS transaction and network system engineering. Proficiency in IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems. Experience working with managed service providers. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Certifications in relevant technologies are a plus. Responsibilities: Deploy, maintain, and optimize IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems. Monitor and troubleshoot transaction and network systems to ensure high availability and performance. Collaborate with managed service providers to ensure seamless integration and support of z/OS systems. Develop and implement system enhancements and optimizations to improve efficiency and reliability. Perform system upgrades and apply patches to maintain system security and compliance. Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
