As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our database systems, with a primary focus on Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL Database. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient and secure storage, retrieval, and analysis of our organization's data. Job Description: Responsibilities: Management and Oversight of the firms database landscape Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable database systems primarily using Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL Database. Perform regular database performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure optimal system functionality and efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data integrity, and connectivity problems. Ensure data security and implement appropriate access controls, backups, and disaster recovery measures. Knowledge of SSIS/SSRS/SSAS setup, configuration and best practices Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective database solutions. Develop and optimize database queries, stored procedures, and other database objects to support application development and data analytics. Work closely with development teams to ensure database design and architecture meet application requirements and performance goals. Implement and enforce database best practices, standards, and policies to maintain data integrity and consistency. Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in database technologies, particularly in the Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL Database ecosystem. Mentor and provide guidance to junior database administrators, sharing your expertise and promoting professional growth. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a Senior Database Administrator, with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL Database. In-depth knowledge of database management systems, relational database concepts, and data modeling principles. Solid experience in database performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning. Familiarity with data analytics and experience working with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of database security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Hands-on experience with cloud-based database technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar are a plus.
