This position will be working mostly remote (from within the state of Wisconsin) but the selected hire could be called onsite in Madison as needed. We are looking for candidates with 5+ years' experience as the lead architect in modernization or re-write from a legacy system to a modern replacement (MudBlazor). Candidate must also have 2+ years' experience with .NET using ASP.NET Core v6-8 and 2+ years' experience with Azure SQL cloud database solution. The preferred candidate will have experience working in an Agile software development environment, using Oracle database technology, Control-M batch jobs and experience using Linq or Entity Framework. Program Related: We are looking for an Application Architect III. This is a technical leadership position needed to drive the development and support of the IRIS 2.0 modernization project, a full replacement of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation's case management system. Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web services, system integrations, web development, and highly complex online transaction processing (OLTP). - DWD is currently allowing remote work for this position from the greater Madison area, including local, surrounding communities. The contractor will be required to be available online, be present to meet all workload requirements, and must be available to attend all scheduled meetings during DWD standard working hours of 7:45 am - 4:30 pm Central Time. The selected contractor MUST be available to work onsite at DWD's Madison, WI headquarters GEF-1 location at DWD's request, including consecutive weekdays or extended periods, without reimbursement for travel, lodging, or parking expenses. DWD can make changes or modifications to this arrangement with a reasonable advance notice. All service providers submitted with inconsistencies or falsifications in their credentials will be disqualified and DOA Purchasing will be notified. An in-person or live video interview will be required as part of our review process. Top Required Skills & Years of Experience: 1. 5+ years' experience as the lead architect in modernization or re-write from a legacy system to a modern replacement, including modernization of technology, as well as working with a cross-functional team to redesign and simplify UX and workflows to meet modern application design standards, using a material design library and component framework, such as MudBlazor 2. 2+ years' experience as a .NET expert, with extensive experience using ASP.NET Core v6-8 3. 2+ years' experience in Azure SQL cloud database solution 4. 2+ years' experience with GitHub distributed version control and using GitHub actions to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines Nice to Have Skills: 1. Experience working in an Agile software development environment 2. Experience using Oracle database technology, Control-M batch jobs 3. Experience using Linq or Entity Framework 4. Previous experience providing this service for government is a plus, and experience with DWD's environments will be especially valuable Interview Process: Teams with camera on.
