Job Title: Scrum Master (Data Delivery, Kanban) Location: Remote with one meeting per month onsite in Reston, VA. Duration: 9-month contract Position Overview:- We are seeking a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) with strong experience in Kanban frameworks and data delivery to lead multiple cross-functional teams focused on enterprise data management. The selected candidate will guide teams through Agile and SAFe practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and agility. The Scrum Master will focus on facilitating team performance, managing cross-team relationships, and eliminating impediments to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results. Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate Team Progress (40%): Lead and support multiple teams or an Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring they progress toward team goals and continuously improve their performance in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity. Lead and facilitate various Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, iteration planning, retrospectives, and Scrum of Scrums. Improve Communication and Relationships (30%): Coordinate and enhance communication between teams, ensuring strong relationships across functional teams (e.g., User Experience, Architecture, Shared Services). Represent the team in larger Scrum of Scrums or other program-level meetings. Facilitate a healthy team dynamic, working closely with the Product Owner and Product Management teams. Eliminate Impediments (15%): Work with stakeholders to resolve issues that hinder team progress, ensuring that impediments are addressed swiftly to improve team effectiveness and the achievement of Iteration or Program Increment (PI) goals. Lean-Agile Leadership (15%): Infuse Lean-Agile practices within the team, leadership, and program. Promote continuous improvement and business agility. Lead initiatives for culture change to enhance agility across teams and ARTs. Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:- Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Kanban certification is a plus. Experience: 8-10+ years in software development, with 5+ years as a Scrum Master. Proven track record of successfully leading Agile teams focused on data delivery and continuous improvement. Industry Experience: Experience in the healthcare industry is highly preferred. Knowledge of Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), MicroStrategy, Hadoop/Cloudera, and AWS is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Familiarity with Hadoop/Cloudera, AWS, and experience working in data-intensive environments. Agile Expertise: Strong experience in Kanban and Lean practices. Experience with Agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban, as well as scaling frameworks like SAFe. Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are critically important. Ability to effectively communicate across teams and leadership. Preferred Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field (preferred). Agile Tools: Experience with Agile project management tools and techniques (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Leadership: Proven experience in leading change, driving continuous improvement, and fostering Agile maturity across teams.
