Job Title : Frontend Solutions Architect Location : Chicago, IL Duration : Long Term Contract Job Description: PURPOSE: Senior IT Architect reports to the Application Development Manager or Application Development Director. The candidate makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous systems software engineering issues and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Web Solutions Architect: Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect with expertise in modern web frameworks like Next.js and React to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for our e-commerce platform. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our solutions align with business goals, technical strategy, and best practices for modern web development. Primary Responsibilities::Solution Design and Architecture: Design comprehensive, high-level architecture for web-based solutions leveraging modern web frameworks like Next.js and React. Provide architectural frameworks and technical direction to ensure system scalability, performance, and security. Create detailed architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and solution blueprints for development teams. Web Application Development: Provide technical leadership for building modern web applications like Next.js and React. Oversee the integration of backend services with frontend applications, ensuring seamless API interactions and data flow. Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions that meet both functional and non-functional needs. Collaborate with DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployment, operation, and maintenance of developed solutions. Lead and mentor development teams, ensuring alignment with architectural best practices and guiding them through technical challenges. Technology Evaluation & Innovation: Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and platforms to recommend improvements that enhance the scalability, performance, and reliability of solutions. Required Qualifications: 10+ years of progressively complex software engineering experience in web-based environments leveraging modern, mainstream, open-source frameworks and tools like React, Next.js, and Spring Boot 3+ years experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role guiding the architecture and development of micro-service and containerized architecture where the required changes span multiple teams and/or departments. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical discussions. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated experience designing and developing web solutions that comply with accessibility standards such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), ensuring usability for individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of security principles and best practices for web applications (e.g., OWASP Top Ten).
