Position: Java Production Support Engineer Location: Dallas, TX / Cincinnati, OH / NYC, NY (Onsite) Duration: 12+ Months Contract Responsibilities: Act as L3 escalation point for production issues related to Java-based applications. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes to recurring issues. Strong Unix/Linux administration skills, including scripting. Advanced SQL knowledge (writing complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning). Analyze log files, error messages, and system metrics to diagnose production failures. Collaborate with L1 and L2 support teams to resolve complex technical problems. Escalate unresolved issues to development teams, ensuring timely resolution. Monitor application performance, system logs, and job execution using tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, New Relic, or Dynatrace. Perform proactive system health checks to prevent potential issues. Optimize database queries, indexes, and execution plans for better performance. Implement automated monitoring scripts in Unix scripting.
