Job Title IT Systems Application Specialist Location Paramus, New Jersey Job Description Visa: USC/ GC POSITION PURPOSE We seek an experienced Utility Operations Application Specialist (AMI Metering, MWM, EAM) to join our support team and maximize the potential of our cutting-edge operations applications at the heart of our Companys mission. The candidate will bridge our technical systems and operational needs and should have a strong background in utility operations, technical expertise in managing and supporting critical operational applications, and be proficient with SQL and Java development. This role will focus on advanced applications such as meter management, AMI metering, mobile workforce management, and enterprise asset management. PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Administer and maintain the assigned operations applications 2. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users 3. Manage application upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations. 4. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulations 5. Develop and deliver user training programs / Maintain user documentation 6. Develop and maintain custom applications and scripts using Java to support utility operations. 7. Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting. 8. Familiar with API functions and usages 9. Develop and maintain documentation for application processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. 10. Conduct user training and provide ongoing support to ensure optimal use of applications. 11. Perform system health checks and proactively identify areas for improvement. 12. Assist in project planning and execution for new application implementations or major upgrades. 13. Ensure application compliance with industry standards and regulations. 14. Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support. Requirements: Education / Experience / Background Bachelors degree or equivalent required 5+ years of experience in utility operations and related applications Strong background in meter management, AMI metering, mobile workforce management, or enterprise asset management systems Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders 6. Passion for environmental sustainability and desire to make a positive impact Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Good understanding of utility domain operations and processes Proficiency in at least 2 meter systems such as: Meter Management (i.e. Sensus, Neptune, Itron) AMI metering technology (i.e. Sensus AMI) Mobile Workforce Management (i.e. IFS MWM) Enterprise Asset Management (i.e. HxGN, Kloudgin, or Cityworks) SQL and database management skills (Oracle and/or MS SQL Server preferred) Exposure to scripting and process automation (e.g., Python, Power) Proficiency with Java Programming & API integration Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 13. Strong communication and interpersonal abilitie QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience / Background Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and equivalent experience. 15. Minimum 6 years of designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure services or similar role. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 19.
