This role involves leading the design and development of secure data lake systems, migrating data from on-premises to cloud environments, and interpreting complex Oracle scripts. Ideal candidates will have excellent scripting skills, familiarity with Azure cloud platforms, and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Database Management: Design, develop, and maintain secure data lake systems, ensuring data integrity and scalability. Data Migration: Lead data migration initiatives from MS SQL Server to cloud platforms, specifically Azure, while understanding the intricacies of on-prem to cloud transitions. Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain robust scripts for database management and automation, leveraging your strong scripting expertise. Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with various teams, including infrastructure, DBAs, cybersecurity, and external partners such as SSA, to integrate and streamline data processes. Oracle Proficiency: Understand and interpret Oracle scripts to facilitate integration and migration projects. Legacy Systems: Navigate and manage legacy architectures, system dependencies, and data relationships to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Communication: Provide clear and concise communication, both written and spoken, to coordinate across different teams and stakeholders effectively. Qualifications: Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with MS SQL Server and familiarity with Oracle databases. Strong understanding of ETL processes and best practices for data migration. Proven experience in cloud technologies, especially Azure. Exceptional scripting skills (SQL, Power, or similar). Experience: Previous experience in a lead database administrator role or similar capacity. Ability to work across different departments and with external agencies to achieve project goals. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
