The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating deployment processes, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of services in AWS. This role requires expertise in Linux system administration, configuration management, Python, Agile methodologies, and security best practices. This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship. The candidate must be able to support a rotating onsite schedule, with work conducted at both the customer site in Hanover, MD, and the Columbia, MD office (2-3 days per week). Flexibility is required to accommodate changes in scheduling. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Deployment Develop and deploy cloud infrastructure in AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.). Automate deployment pipelines and optimize infrastructure for high availability and performance. Manage configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet. Support application and OS deployment, scaling, and system management. Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolving issues as needed. Ensure security best practices are integrated into deployment processes. Collaboration & Process Improvement Work with development teams to integrate applications into cloud environments. Continuously improve tools and processes to enhance DevOps automation. Stay updated on new technologies and best practices to optimize system performance. Participate in Agile development methodologies and software development tool suites. Minimum Qualifications Security Clearance: Active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance required; SCI eligibility preferred. Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in a relevant field with 9+ years of experience. Masters degree with 7+ years of experience. High School diploma with 13+ years of relevant experience. Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting expertise. Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.). Proficiency in configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet). Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and software deployment tools. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Excellent oral and written communication skills. DoD 8140 / 8570 compliant certification required (e.g., Security+). Preferred Qualifications Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto. Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes. Knowledge of PostgreSQL administration and troubleshooting. Work Schedule & Location Onsite role in Hanover, MD, supporting a rotating schedule: 1 week on-site, 2 weeks off-site at the customer location. 2-3 days per week in the Columbia, MD office.
