Job Title: - Business Application IT Portfolio Project Manager Job Location: - Houston, Texas Duration: 9+ Months Visa: H4EAD, GC, USC Job Summary: The Business Application IT Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the organization's portfolio of IT applications, ensuring they align with business objectives and deliver maximum value. This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, performance tracking, and fostering collaboration between IT and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Portfolio Management o Oversee the full lifecycle of business applications, from planning to decommissioning. o Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT application portfolio roadmap aligned with business goals. o Evaluate and prioritize IT projects based on strategic value, risk, and resource requirements. 2. Stakeholder Collaboration o Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure applications meet organizational needs. o Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams. o Translate business requirements into technical specifications for application development or procurement. 3. Governance and Compliance o Establish and enforce governance processes for application lifecycle management. o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. o Monitor application performance and recommend improvements or replacements. 4. Financial Management o Manage budgets for application-related projects and operations. o Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making. o Identify opportunities to optimize application costs while maintaining quality. 5. Risk and Issue Management o Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. o Address issues affecting application performance or delivery timelines promptly. o Maintain a risk register for applications and related projects. 6. Performance Monitoring o Track the performance of applications against defined KPIs and SLAs. o Generate regular reports to inform stakeholders about portfolio health and performance. o Recommend corrective actions for underperforming applications or projects. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus. Experience: o 5+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, business applications, or related roles. o Proven track record in managing complex IT application ecosystems. Skills: o Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and enterprise architecture. o Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.). o Analytical skills with the ability to conduct cost-benefit and risk analyses. o Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. o Knowledge of IT governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT).
