Job Title: Hadoop Administrator Location: Houston, TX Work Type: Onsite Employment Type: Contract Experience: 10 + Years Visa- H1B/H4EAD on C2CJob Description: We are seeking an experienced Hadoop Administrator with strong expertise in Linux and Hadoop Cluster Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and managing Hadoop clusters while ensuring high availability, monitoring, and performance optimization.Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain Hadoop clusters, including scaling operations and node management. Configure and manage HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) for efficient data storage and retrieval. Implement NameNode high availability to ensure redundancy and failover protection. Utilize monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cluster issues, and job failures. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues within the cluster environment. Automate cluster configuration and deployment using tools like Puppet or Chef. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for Hadoop data. Monitor and manage Hadoop jobs, scheduling, and resource allocation. Utilize basic Java programming knowledge to troubleshoot core Hadoop components.Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills: Deep understanding of the Linux operating system, including scripting and system administration. Proven experience in Hadoop cluster deployment and maintenance. Strong knowledge of HDFS architecture and data management best practices. Expertise in monitoring tools to optimize Hadoop performance. Familiarity with network configurations and troubleshooting in a Hadoop environment. Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet or Chef. Knowledge of Hadoop job scheduling and resource allocation.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud-based Hadoop solutions. Understanding of Kafka integration for real-time data processing. Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
