About the Role We are seeking a seasoned Senior AWS Cloud Architect & Engineer with a strong focus on designing and implementing cloud-based IaaS solutions. This role is ideal for a technical subject matter expert with hands-on AWS cloud engineering capabilities, particularly for Microsoft technology-based web applications. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking architect with deep expertise in AWS, extensive experience creating infrastructure templates from scratch using Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation, and a robust understanding of monitoring and observability best practices. Please note: This is not a DevOps role. Key Responsibilities Cloud Architecture & Design: oServe as the subject matter expert in AWS and system architecture, focusing on scalable and secure IaaS solutions. oArchitect and design cloud-based solutions for modern, Microsoft technology-driven web applications. oDevelop and maintain robust infrastructure templates from scratch using Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation. Hands-On Cloud Engineering: oImplement, configure, and optimize AWS infrastructure to support enterprise-level applications. oEnsure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance through detailed monitoring and observability practices. oCollaborate with engineering teams to seamlessly integrate IaaS solutions into broader application ecosystems. Technical Leadership & Best Practices: oProvide technical guidance and mentorship to teams, sharing deep insights into cloud infrastructure design and AWS best practices. oConduct technical reviews, ensure adherence to architectural standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. oDocument design decisions, configurations, and best practices for future reference and audits. Monitoring & Observability: oImplement and manage comprehensive monitoring solutions using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and other relevant observability platforms. oProactively address potential issues by analyzing system performance data and optimizing infrastructure accordingly. Required Skills & Experience Experience: o10+ years in the computer industry. o7+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-based architecture and IaaS solutions, with a strong preference for AWS expertise. o7+ years of experience with automated configuration management and infrastructure as code, particularly with Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation (must be capable of creating templates from scratch). oPrior experience working in a very large enterprise environment that is heavily involved in web technologies and infrastructure. Technical Expertise: oProven ability in designing and implementing scalable and secure AWS cloud solutions. oDeep knowledge of AWS services with a focus on IaaS design. oStrong experience with monitoring tools for both traditional and dynamic cloud environments (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Nagios). oProficiency in modern web technologies (ASP.Net MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery) and Microsoft SQL Server technologies (SQL, T-SQL, Database Design). oPrior experience with distributed revision control tools (e.g., Git). Additional Requirements: oStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. oExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings. oBachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
