Essential Duties Conceptualizes and creates mechanical designs using design software SolidWorks and/or Catia V5 for new products used in late model air cooled Porsches Ability to understand and design around packaging environment, mounting strategy and load conditions of automotive components and systems, even with little information Ability to plan and execute part evaluations on vehicle, and component or system validation plans Interfaces with and manages suppliers to execute project deliverables Collaborates with global Design and Production Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Production teams Plans, executes, and initiates process improvement (such as Lean or Six Sigma) Evaluates existing drawings and 3D models of assemblies and processes Develops testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs Creates working prototypes for first article fit and function testing Reviews and approves 3D models and 2D drawings and specifications created by junior engineers Complete documentation to track project development and design process Ensures projects are on time and within budget Identifies indicators for improvement and cost reduction opportunities Creates product introduction materials; work instructions, exploded view parts manuals, etc. Performs all other duties as assigned Jitender Kumar Sagar Resource Manager VRTEK Consulting Mobile: 213-218-3432 EMail: [email protected] -- Keywords: information technology wtwo California Idaho : Design Engineer at Torrance, CA Contract Position With Carbon Fiber Experience [email protected] |
