Title: Data Architect Location: Houston, TX - Hybrid Duration: Long Term Contract Visa: No OPT/CPT Experience: 15+ Years Note: Must-Have IBM BizzDesign, PowerDesigner, Archimate modelling Job Description: This Solution Architecture position resides in the DSAI organization. Architect Trading & Supply organization and supports the Client Energy Americas- Gas and Power area of Trading & Supply. The Solution Architect (SA) at Client is responsible for delivering high-quality solution architecture for business projects, programs, and products. This role ensures that IT solutions are fit for purpose, align with the company's technology direction, and maintain technical integrity and optimal total cost of ownership (TCO) throughout their lifecycle. The effectiveness of these solutions is measured by stakeholder satisfaction and their successful deployment in production. Key responsibilities include: Architecture Delivery: The SA owns the architecture delivery, ensuring solutions are fit for both current and future needs. They are accountable for high-quality architectural design and implementation, compliant with Client's standards and strategies. Collaboration: The SA works closely with the relevant Lead Architects, IT Managers, and product/project managers to deliver, assure, and implement solutions. They also lead teams of architects via squads, managing resources (if a line management position), and developing team members' skills through coaching and delegation. Solution Development: The SA provides consultancy and assurance to projects, ensuring applications conform to Client standards and reference architectures. They are accountable for the end-to-end architecture of products, from development to deployment and hyper care. Integration and Data Management: The SA addresses business process, data, application, technical, and information security aspects. They ensure solution architecture is documented and conforms to Client standards, review low-level designs, and make significant design decisions. They also manage data quality standards and ensure compliance with data policies. Technology and Innovation: The SA defines technology services and components, conducts proof of concepts, and ensures solutions are future-proof. They maintain knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements and embed security and privacy by design in projects. Experience and Skills: The role requires 7-10 years in digital and IT, with at least 3 years of stakeholder management experience. The SA should have substantial technology experience, preferably with a background in software engineering, and be able to work in virtual teams across different time zones and cultures. They should be delivery-oriented, with a focus on agile and product-focused delivery. Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF and architecture tooling like Bizz Design, PowerDesigner and ArchiMate modelling standard. In summary, the Senior Solution Architect at Client plays a crucial role in ensuring that IT solutions are well-designed, compliant, and aligned with the company's strategic direction. They work collaboratively with various stakeholders, manage natural teams through squads, and ensure that solutions are future-proof and meet all regulatory and compliance requirements.
