Local to TX, VA with DL || F2F Interview Job Title: QA Tester Location: Dallas, TX (Locals only, no relocation candidates) Rate: C2C $45/hr max Duration: Contract - 12 month SOW (with potential for continuous extensions) Oncor Interview Mode: On-site interview required Visa Requirements: No H1B, CPT and OPT Job Description the largest transmission and distribution electric utility in the state of Texas and the 5th largest utility company in the US. Their service territory includes east, west, and north-central Texas, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Irving, Plano, Arlington, Beeville, Midland, Odessa, Killeen, Waco, Wichita Falls, Tyler, and other cities throughout Texas. In 2018, Sempra Energy acquired a majority stake in Oncor for US$9.45 billion. Key Responsibilities Design and develop test cases for web and desktop applications. Review business, functional, and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables. Identify testing requirements from specifications, map test case requirements, and design test coverage. Develop and execute Test Plans to ensure delivery of quality software that meets company specifications. Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential issues immediately to management. Must be willing to work from the office (this is not a remote-only job). May be required to travel to different Oncor service centers within the DFW area for testing requirements. Requirements 8+ years of relevant testing experience conducting testing of critical customer-facing applications. College degree or equivalent. Experience with qTest and JIRA is an added advantage. Must be flexible and willing to work late hours and weekends as required. Experience with testing of web services is a must. Familiarity with providing QA for mobile, web, and back-end services. Extensive backend testing, understanding data mapping, ETL, and writing complex SQL/Procs is crucial due to the quantity of data involved in all ADE projects. Experience conducting usability tests and an ability to empathize with users unique perspectives. Proficient in defining automation test cases and execution and scheduling of these automation scripts from the test case management tool. Test mobile applications across cellular phones and tablets. Capable of writing and executing manual tests for web and mobile applications. Ability to understand and create test plans/cases from specifications or verbal communications. Native app testing experience is a plus. Help analyze and create test scenarios from functional requirements. Proficient knowledge of testing tools, preferably qTest, is a must. Working knowledge of automation tools like Selenium or UFT is a must. Demonstrated proficiency with tools like ALM, JIRA, and all Microsoft Office applications is a must. Knowledge of API and Microservices is required. Able to work with a wide variety of personalities in a diverse work environment. Self-motivated and flexible to work in a fast-paced, lean environment, with a hands-on team player approach. Good written and oral communication skills, presentation, and other customer-facing skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to render good judgment and sound decisions or seek advice from peers or superiors. Able to manage workload in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Able to accept constructive coaching and counseling. Required Skills: A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing or a related role. Proven expertise in Python scripting and automation tools. Experience with Linux, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Ansible, and Jenkins. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Skills: Advanced certifications in software testing or related fields. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
