Job Title: COBOL Developer with Banking Domain Exp Location: Jersey, City, NJ( Onsite Role ) Job Type: Contract Required Exp: Less Then 18 Years Must have Cobol, BSAM, CICS, stored procedures Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced COBOL Developer with expertise in BSAM, CICS, and stored procedures to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe development, preferably within the banking or financial services industry. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining critical banking applications while ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based banking applications. Work with CICS (Customer Information Control System) to develop and manage transaction-based applications. Implement and optimize BSAM (Basic Sequential Access Method) for efficient file handling. Develop, modify, and optimize stored procedures for database interactions. Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in production and development environments. Ensure compliance with banking industry regulations, security standards, and best practices. Participate in performance tuning and optimization of applications. Provide support for system upgrades, migrations, and maintenance. Required Skills & Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in COBOL development. Strong experience with BSAM (Basic Sequential Access Method). Hands-on expertise in CICS (Customer Information Control System) for online transaction processing. Experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures for relational databases (e.g., DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server). Familiarity with JCL (Job Control Language) and mainframe utilities. Knowledge of VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) is a plus. Experience in banking or financial services industry applications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of IMS DB/DC and MQ Series. Experience with Agile methodologies and working in a DevOps environment. Exposure to modernization efforts (migrating legacy COBOL applications to modern architectures).
