Skills : Strong infrastructure knowledge (data center and cloud). Proficiency in Azure, virtualization, storage, Windows, Linux, scripting, and database administration. Key Responsibilities System & Network Management : Design, maintain, and troubleshoot On-Prem and Cloud infrastructure. Manage network components (routers, switches, firewalls) and ensure cybersecurity. Automation & Documentation : Automate cloud infrastructure processes and ensure proper documentation. Collaboration & Support : Train users/peers, collaborate with DevOps and Security, and support second-level troubleshooting. Project Involvement : Work with a team on various projects, including network upgrades, migrations, and security improvements. Qualifications Skills : Familiar with configuration tools (Puppet, Terraform, etc.) and scripting (Python, Power). Experience : Proven track record with infrastructure planning, high traffic SaaS, hybrid environments, and network management tools. The client seeks a skilled engineer with extensive experience in network and infrastructure management, a proactive problem solver who can work independently and collaborate across teams. ***OTHER NOTES ON THE ROLE:*** Virtualization Network Storage Vmware OSI model understanding of the internet/servers Palo alto and cisco CrowdStrike How to install, upgrade and troubleshoot About 10 yrs of hands on experience Primarily windows shop. They have Linux, they also have containerization. Healthcare saas-based company Lots of infrastructure is in the cloud and in data centers around the country and internationally - hybrid - dedicated connections between offices and data centers, etc. -- code/software/product is hosted in data centers as well as the cloud. Azure is important here. Need to be able to troubleshoot systems/infrastructure/handle DevOps initiatives Power scripting on Linux Python would be nice to have! Role Overview Senior-Level Position Requires someone independent who doesnt need hand-holding. Network-Centric Role Focuses on networking infrastructure, including firewall management, Cisco Nexus switches, and cloud environments. Cloud & Automation Heavy emphasis on Azure Cloud; automation experience is a significant plus. Backup & Disaster Recovery Veeam experience is required. Infrastructure Scope Covers two main data centers (Phoenix, AZ & Andover, MA). International Team Support The India-based network team handles things during their hours, so they need an American engineer to assist when theyre offline. Security & Access Management OKTA IAM software is in use. Position Description (What Theyre Looking For) Firewall expertise Expect deep-dive questions on firewalls and firewall commands. Azure Networking Must understand VNets, load balancing, and networking configurations in Azure. Hardware Networking Cisco Nexus switch experience is required. Data Center Maintenance Handling network devices and server maintenance across the two U.S. data centers. Virtualization VMware knowledge is needed. General Networking Strong fundamentals in networking protocols, troubleshooting, and security.
