Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA) with MongoDB Expertise Location: Mentor, Kansas (Onsite) Job Type: Contract Visa Type: H1B, Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in MongoDB to join our team in Mentor, Kansas. As a DBA, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our MongoDB databases. You will work closely with the development and operations teams to ensure database performance, availability, and security, while providing support for other relational and NoSQL databases as needed. Key Responsibilities: MongoDB Administration: Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB databases in both development and production environments. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of MongoDB databases, ensuring efficient query execution and appropriate indexing strategies. Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage MongoDB backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of failures. Replication & Clustering: Set up and maintain MongoDB replication, sharding, and high-availability clusters to ensure system scalability and redundancy. Security Management: Implement and enforce security policies for MongoDB, including user authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging. Monitoring and Alerts: Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., MongoDB Ops Manager, Nagios, Prometheus) to keep track of database health, performance, and resource usage. Database Optimization: Optimize MongoDB queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure fast data retrieval and efficient resource usage. Troubleshooting: Provide timely and effective troubleshooting for database issues, including connectivity problems, slow queries, and system outages. Data Migrations: Support MongoDB migrations, data imports, and exports while ensuring minimal downtime and data consistency. Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to optimize schema design, query performance, and database integration with applications. Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation on MongoDB configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures. Research and Development: Stay up to date with the latest MongoDB features, releases, and industry best practices, providing recommendations for improvements.
