The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in implementing security measures, conducting risk assessments, and managing security documentation. You will play a critical role in advising on secure system development, identifying vulnerabilities, and enforcing security best practices throughout the lifecycle of the system. Essential Responsibilities: Authorization Documentation: Create, review, and edit authorization documentation for compliance with federal and DoD policies. Ensure completeness and accuracy in all deliverables. RMF Accreditation: Thorough understanding and application of DoD RMF system accreditation processes. Risk Assessment & Management: Assess the operational risks of integrated open-source, GOTS/COTS software components. Security Tooling: Utilize vulnerability management systems, automated security scanning tools, and system accreditation record systems. Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate data gathering, collaborate with diverse teams, and adapt to new concepts as required. Process Development: Follow established security processes where applicable, and develop new processes where necessary to ensure robust system security. Security Planning & Guidance: Provide security planning, risk analysis, and risk management support. Recommend system-level solutions to address security requirements and guide development teams. Trusted Relationships: Support the enforcement of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures. Policy Implementation: Apply IA policy and procedures to design, develop, and implement secure networks, computing environments, and enclave solutions. Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members and stakeholders to achieve security goals and deadlines. Minimum Qualifications: Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly required; U.S. Citizenship required. Experience: 9+ years of experience as an ISSE or security-focused systems/software engineer in large, multi-tiered programs, and a Bachelors degree in a related field; OR 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree in a related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience. Security Accreditation: Experience with DoD system accreditation processes (DIACAP acceptable, RMF preferred). Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, computer architectures, and network topologies. Certifications: DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level II (SSCP, Security+, CCNA-Security, or GSEC certification). Vulnerability Management: Familiarity with DISA STIGs, SRGs, vulnerability management systems, and security scanning tools. Independent & Team Work: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Flexibility: Adaptability to changing schedules and priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: CISSP-ISSEP is highly desired.
