Job Title: Splunk Engineer / Dynatrace Developer Location: Dallas,TX~Tampa, FL~Jersey City, NJ Job Type: Contract Industry: IT / Cloud Services / Monitoring & SecurityRole Description: We are looking for a highly skilled Splunk Engineer / Dynatrace Developer to design, develop, and maintain integrations between Splunk and Dynatrace for enterprise-wide monitoring and logging solutions. The role also involves integrating AWS cloud-native logging and monitoring services (such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail) into Splunk, supporting both batch and real-time data ingestion. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing custom Splunk dashboards, alerts, and reports to monitor system performance, application health, and security insights.Key Responsibilities: Integration Development: Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Splunk and Dynatrace to provide seamless, enterprise-wide monitoring and logging across all systems and applications. AWS Cloud Integration: Integrate AWS cloud-native logging and monitoring services (e.g., CloudWatch, CloudTrail) into Splunk, supporting both batch and real-time data ingestion for effective system monitoring. Dashboard & Report Development: Design and develop custom Splunk dashboards, alerts, and reports that provide actionable insights into system performance, application health, and security. Real-time Monitoring: Ensure continuous monitoring and reporting of critical application metrics and logs for performance and security issues. Data Ingestion & Optimization: Optimize and troubleshoot data ingestion processes, focusing on scaling and performance improvements for both batch and real-time streaming data. Incident Response: Utilize Splunk to support operational incident response by identifying anomalies, generating alerts, and providing detailed logs to facilitate problem resolution. Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, architects, and security teams to ensure the integrations meet business requirements and align with best practices. Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of monitoring systems and integrations. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for developed integrations, dashboards, and system configurations to ensure clarity and knowledge transfer across the team.Required Skills & Qualifications: 8-10 years of hands-on experience with Splunk and Dynatrace, particularly in the areas of monitoring, logging, and data integration. Expertise in integrating Splunk with cloud-native services, especially AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail for effective cloud monitoring. Solid experience in creating and optimizing Splunk dashboards, alerts, and reports to track system health and security. Familiarity with real-time data ingestion and batch processing in Splunk. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, with hands-on experience in cloud-native monitoring and logging services. Proficiency in Splunk Query Language (SPL) for creating queries and data visualizations. Strong scripting and automation skills (using Python, Bash, or other relevant languages). Experience with application performance monitoring (APM) using Dynatrace. Knowledge of ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in large, distributed environments. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams.Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in Splunk (e.g., Splunk Certified Admin, Splunk Certified Architect). Experience with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their monitoring in Splunk. Familiarity with cloud security best practices and logging. Experience with DevOps or CI/CD pipeline integration for monitoring purposes.
