From: Mohd Niyaz, Sibitalent Corp [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Senior GCP Engineer (Expert Level) Location: Hartford, CT (On-site required) Duration: 36 months contract with potential for conversion Role Overview: The Senior GCP Engineer will be responsible for implementing a self-service model for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) within the Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting Aetna Technology. This role requires expert-level GCP knowledge and extensive experience with large-scale enterprise cloud migration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in DevOps, cloud security, automation (Terraform), and containerization, along with a solid understanding of networking and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of a self-service automation model for GCP, reducing dependencies on infrastructure teams for provisioning servers, networks, and cloud resources. Develop and maintain Terraform scripts for cloud automation and infrastructure as code (IaC). Ensure GCP IAM security compliance, governance, and best practices. Provide expertise in DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native development. Support cloud migration initiatives, guiding application teams through best practices in moving workloads to GCP. Work closely with development teams on containerization (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, GKE) and microservices architecture. Optimize monitoring and alerting strategies using tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Tivoli, and Topaz. Collaborate with engineering teams to modernize legacy .NET applications, transitioning from .NET Framework to .NET Core and containerized deployments. Provide technical leadership and guidance on database connectivity, cloud-based application performance, and security considerations. Required Qualifications: Expert-level GCP experience with a proven track record in large enterprise cloud migration. Strong background in cloud automation using Terraform. Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud monitoring. Deep understanding of networking and infrastructure, including hybrid cloud environments. Hands-on experience with Azure and Kubernetes (AKS, GKE, OpenShift). Strong software development expertise in .NET (Framework & Core), Java (8, 11, 17, 21), JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, and Python. Knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, DB2) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB). Experience in an Agile development environment with a proactive, self-driven approach to execution. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive initiatives, collaborate cross-functionally, and execute with urgency. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GCP IAM security policies and governance. Knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Splunk, Tivoli, Topaz). Exposure to Azure App Services and cloud-native modernization strategies. Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Octopus for CI/CD pipelines. Interview Process: Round 1: Interview with the hiring manager and a peer. Round 2: Technical discussion with GCP Cloud Engineering team and tech leads. No live coding exercise; the interview will assess both technical expertise and soft skills. Additional Details: Location: Hartford, CT (On-site required).
