The communication skills need to be off the charts, and the manager is looking for Data Engineers who are Snowflake and Data Factory experts, while also having DBT expertise. Must Have - Candidates who have experience on their resume from MN based organizations can help the candidate stand out as well The first month is 100% onsite, and then after the first month itll be two days a week onsite in Eagan, MN. Must have - Whoever gets this role will be a one man/woman show, so they have to have the skillset to be able to do this. Were looking for a pretty senior resource for this role, at least 10 years of experience. We need an absolute rockstar. Also they need to have EXTENSIVE and PROVEN experience with the following: Heavy Snowflake experience Heavy Azure/ Azure Data Factory experience Extensive DBT experience JD - Data Engineer with Azure and Snowflake Experience We are seeking a data engineer with strong abilities in delivering innovative solutions leveraging the capabilities of Snowflake, DBT (Data Build Tool), and Microsoft Azure platform. You will take responsibility for designing and expanding AI and ML capabilities, overseeing our company data warehouse, and enhancing analytical capabilities. Key responsibilities include: Migrating existing data workflows from Azure Synapse Analytics to Snowflake Analytics environment. Collaborating with business leaders to leverage data for better decision making. Driving platform and technology choices, owning solution approaches and timelines. Maintaining technical documentation, leading BI solution design sessions, managing integrations, configurations, and API interfaces associated with data and AI accessibility. Implementing data automation processes using Azure Data Factory, and Azure Function APIs for data ingestion into Azure Data Lake. Efficiently working within an Agile environment to ensure team productivity. Utilizing best practices in developing architectural solutions with a focus on enterprise usability. Project managing data-related projects, including but not limited to, migration to Snowflake platform. Requirements: An undergraduate degree in a relevant field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience. At least 4 years of mixed experience with Snowflake and Azure Data Factory. Responsibilities: Deliver solutions that leverage capabilities of Snowflake, DBT (Data Build Tool) and Microsoft Azure platform, and other various tools. Design and build out AI and ML capabilities. Architect and expand the company data warehouse and analytical capabilities with a focus on data quality. Migrate existing data engineering workflows from Azure Synapse Analytics to the modern Snowflake Analytics environment Work with business leaders to drive better business decisions and outcomes leveraging data that make a real impact on the company and our customers. Drive platform and technology choices and own solution approach and timelines. Maintain right-sized technical documentation. Lead BI solution design sessions, integrations, configurations, API and other interface documentation as it relates to data and AI accessibility. Implementation of data automation processes leveraging Azure Data Factory, and Azure Function APIs for data ingestion into Azure Data Lake Work efficiently in an Agile environment to ensure team productivity and velocity. Leverage best practices and prioritize enterprise usability while developing architectural solutions. Serve as project manager for data-related projects, such as but not limited to, migration to Snowflake platform. Requirements Undergraduate degree in an applicable area, or 5+ years of equivalent experience. 4+ years of mixed experience with Snowflake and Azure Data Factory. 4+ years experience with Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake Storage, DBT (Data Built Tool) and Azure Functions and JupyterNotebooks (Python). 2+ years with Microsoft-based business intelligence solutions (Azure AI, Power BI, etc.) is strongly preferred Track record for learning and applying new technologies. Experience in using Agile methods and driving data platform decisions. Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills. Understanding of development best practices and methodologies Experience with a database query languages and DB management (SQL Server, T-Sql, DB2, SnowSQL etc.). Preferred Qualifications Certification in Snowflake and adjacent technologies. Experience with reporting and ML (Machine Learning) tools such as Power BI, Copilot or Azure Machine Learning. Experience importing/exporting data to/from ERP (MS Dynamics 365 BC). Development experience with Microsoft and Snowflake Communities. Exposure to data syncing technologies partnered with Snowflake (Snowpipe, Omnata) Knowledge of building data integration solutions for consumption from Snowflake such as Snowpark Why Bay & Bay Transportation Smaller company atmosphere, where youre a person, not a number.
