Position: Mainframe Operations Support Location: Brooklyn, NY(Onsite) Duration: Contract Job Timings: (Night Shift)Tuesday to Saturday, 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM EST Job Description: Support applications by providing monitoring, application, and system support for Production, QA, PSE, DEV and test environments. Provide 24x7 support for event monitoring, incident triage, and critical issues. Provide support to all environments on a shift basis, handling any activity for any environment as required. Disaster Recovery experience a plus as participation in disaster recovery tests are required (done on weekends) Knowledge of CA1/7/11/CA Scheduler and JCL Distributed Autosys Scheduler Strong Knowledge of IPLs using HMC, BMC Mainview MQ & CICS products Knowledge of Windows OS and UNIX / LINUX OS a plus Strong written and verbal communication / presentation skills Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, JES2, MVS Experience in working in a mainframe operations environment. Working knowledge of VTAM, TSO/ISPF, and Service now Alert management using Service Now and Splunk dashboards. Strong background in large-scale, multi-sysplex environments High level of problem solving and decision-making skills. Responsible for all aspects of batch processing, including the timeliness of online availability. Support the Major Incident Management teams. Support automation by making recommendations for optimizing and streamlining daily functions and daily batch cycles. Coordinate weekend activities for testing and installation of all system and application hardware and software changes.
