Role Description Overall accountability for translating business and account needs to a technical level, defining & planning Mainframe Infra/IT strategy, manage end 2 end infra/IT projects/activities and build the knowledge and expertise of the infra/IT teams. Key responsibilities 1. Service Management: - Defining & planning infra/IT strategy and prioritizing targets for the project and its interfaces - Accountable for infra/IT services from establishment to OGS (on going support), focal point to stakeholders and customers, including managing escalations and problem resolution - Managing E2E production architecture design, setup, implementation and operation - Cultivate service orientation and adhere to agreed SLAs, responsible for meeting SLA and internal KPIs - Identifying, assessing and mitigating risks on a regular basis -Seek to understand the challenges/needs of the customer/business groups - Define/negotiate timelines and priorities with other groups according to staffing, requirements and budget 2. Vendor Management: - Provides Vendor-wide vision, mission, and goals. - Maximize efficiency and optimize infra/IT resource use to ensure critical path and bottleneck prevention and resolution - Establish processes to clarify, enhance and improve Vendor performance, effectiveness, and excellence - Manage Vendor KPI/SLA 3. Innovation: Initiate, lead and promote innovative technical solutions and creative thinking for process/tools development and problem resolution to improve processes while keeping teams efficient standard; Encourage team to constantly improve efficiency and customer satisfaction via innovative approaches to common challenges; Contribute valuable ideas and implement them in order to achieve business objectives and influence the way business is conducted; Continuously work to remove barriers to innovation and avoid discouraging innovators by providing positive reinforcement of innovation 4. Business: Seeks to understand the business challenges and requirements and translate them to technical requirements; Conducts discovery process with customers to identify needs/problems and provide resolution for complex/non-routine problems; Creates and analyzes multiple solution alternatives and recommends the most suitable one, using industry practices and experience - Negotiate with business partners for expected services, identify risks and provide appropriate solution suitable for the deal. - Understands the business processes and relies on the relevant technology experts for information and advice to meet business partner needs and improve business efficiency - Manage the impact of identified changes in the industry/market on the current business. 5. Quality: - Accountable for the quality of infra/IT services for the project and its constant improvements, lessons learned and prevention steps. - Determine quality standards and lead unit to meet these standards by using measurement tools, promoting prevention steps and performing root cause analysis, lesson learned and quality review processes on a regular basis. - Responsible for defining, enhancing and improving Infra/IT methodologies and processes and lead the team to work following these predefined methodologies and processes. 6. Project/Program Management: - Accountable for Infra/ IT project, manage integrated technical assignments - Focuses on the project interdependencies and helps to determine the optimal approach for managing them. Actions related to these interdependencies may include budget mgmt., project resources mgmt., aligning organizational/strategic direction that affects project goals and objectives and governance of change requests. Critical Experiences 12+ years experience in Mainframe Infrastructure management including vendor management Diverse experience in Mainframe Infra/IT dimensions Proficiency in z/OS, AS400 and other mainframe operating systems like z/VM and z/VSE. Strong understanding of COBOL, JCL, and Assembler. Familiarity with other languages such as PL/I and REXX. Expertise in database management (DB2, IMS, FOCUS, and other databases) Proficiency in CICS (Customer Information Control System) for managing online transactions. Understanding of MQ (Message Queue) for messaging and integration. Experience with tools like RMF (Resource Measurement Facility) and SMF (System Management Facility) for performance monitoring. Skills in tuning mainframe systems for optimal performance. Knowledge of RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) for security management. Understanding of compliance requirements and industry standards. Familiarity with DFSMS (Data Facility Storage Management Subsystem) for managing storage resources. Experience with backup and recovery solutions. Z/OS System programmer Mainframe Storage System Admin MF Software Support Expert Mainframe Z/OS Hardware Maintenance expert Mainframe Network hardware understanding AS400 System programmer AS400 Storage System Admin AS400 Software Support Expert Scheduling Support (ESP, CA7) DB2 Z/OS System Admin IMS System Admin Mainframe Database Software and Tools Support Experience with Software Cost optimization Experience with Control Center Credentials Computer Engineering Degree or equivalent a must, advanced degree an advantage.
