Job Title: Mainframe Developer -Intermediate Lincoln Nebraska -Hybrid -Relocation candidates can apply Longterm State Government project experience prefers Job Description: The Transportation Business Technology Support Division is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join our Agile development team. The ideal candidate will work on maintaining and enhancing legacy applications, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the design and development of business-critical systems. Responsibilities: Gain a deep understanding of business requirements and existing systems. Troubleshoot and provide support for existing applications. Collaborate with the development team to implement projects. Perform analysis, coding, and testing of applications. Capture business requirements and assist with system design and architecture. Maintain and enhance Micro Focus COBOL, COBOL, and CICS applications interacting with the departments information systems. Develop front-end, middle-tier, and back-end components as needed. Ensure adherence to department standards, methodologies, and best practices. Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of development experience in COBOL and CICS (recent experience within the last year is required). Strong experience with SQL and DB2, including writing queries in QMF and creating tables. Proficiency in JCL and job scheduling. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to assess trade-offs between different solutions. Detail-oriented with strong adherence to coding standards and best practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
