The role involves working closely with stakeholders to analyze the current system, identify areas for improvement, and, if necessary, oversee the development of a new in-house solution. Key Responsibilities: Analyze the Existing System: Evaluate the current newborn screening follow-up and hearing system to determine its capabilities, limitations, and areas for enhancement. Gather and Document Requirements: Work with program staff to understand their needs, document system interactions, and define clear, detailed requirements. Process Improvement & Workflow Analysis: Create workflow diagrams, system interaction charts, and other documentation to illustrate business processes and system functionality. Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct interviews, facilitate meetings, and coordinate discussions to align program staff and IT teams on system improvements. Solution Recommendations: Participate in solution discussions, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making. Project Oversight: Assist in managing the development of a new in-house system if the existing solution is deemed inadequate. Formal Requirements Documentation: Utilize industry-standard business analysis methodologies to ensure all requirements are properly documented. Collaboration with IT Teams: Work closely with developers, system analysts, and project managers to ensure system requirements are met. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in business analysis or a related field. Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, requirements gathering, and documentation best practices. Experience in workflow analysis, process mapping, and system documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with public health managers, lab staff, and IT teams. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: Experience using project management software (e.g., Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Project). Basic knowledge of SQL to analyze and retrieve system data. Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes. Basic programming knowledge for effective collaboration with developers. Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field OR equivalent work experience.
