Job Title: Test Lead Utilities Location: Waltham ,MA Employment Type: ContractJob Overview: We are seeking an experienced and driven Test Lead with a strong background in the Utilities sector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing testing activities, ensuring the quality of software solutions in the Utilities domain, and leading a team of testers. This role will involve working closely with development teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the overall testing strategy for utility-related projects, ensuring test coverage across functional, regression, and performance testing. Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for utility applications, both manual and automated. Coordinate the testing efforts of a team of testers, ensuring adherence to testing processes and deadlines. Review requirements and technical specifications to develop appropriate test strategies and identify risks early. Ensure the effective execution of testing across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including development, integration, and production. Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and technical specifications. Identify and report defects, work with developers to troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution. Monitor and track testing progress and report on testing status to stakeholders. Lead defect triage meetings and manage defect prioritization and resolution. Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and techniques. Provide mentorship and training to junior members of the testing team. Ensure compliance with quality assurance best practices and utilities-specific standards.Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in testing with a strong focus on Utilities industry applications. Proven experience leading a team of testers in an Agile and Waterfall environment. Expertise in developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases for large-scale utility software applications (e.g., billing systems, SCADA, ERP, energy management). Strong experience with both manual and automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.). In-depth understanding of Utilities domain, including metering, billing, customer management systems, and energy management applications. Experience with defect management tools such as Jira, Quality Center, or similar. Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test strategies. Strong knowledge of SDLC, testing methodologies, and best practices. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
