This role involves data analysis, data reconciliation, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across multiple accounting processes.Key Responsibilities: Perform data analysis, data cleanup, and data conversion to maintain financial data integrity. Analyze extensive datasets, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions. Reconcile financial data and verify accurate categorization of receivables, payables, revenue, assets, cash, grants, payroll, disbursements, contracts, and projects. Prepare and record adjusting accounting entries and maintain accurate ledger management. Resolve data inconsistencies through analysis and corrective tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and document processes. Ensure compliance with Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) standards. Manage multiple complex projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or a related field. 10 years of State of Florida governmental accounting experience is mandatory. Extensive experience with State of Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) systems, including ledger management and financial reporting. Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and governmental accounting practices. Proven experience reconciling FLAIR accounting data, including 29-digit account code streams. Ability to analyze large datasets and identify inconsistencies using advanced technical tools. Strong problem-solving skills to resolve and correct data inconsistencies. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within diverse teams. Ability to manage multiple complex projects while meeting strict deadlines.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in governmental accounting and financial reporting within the State of Florida. Experience with financial reporting reconciliations (central and departmental records). Advanced Excel proficiency (including creating macros and advanced functions). Programming knowledge to create scripts for data uploads. Familiarity with TR10 accounting entries for transaction processing. Prior experience in data cleansing and data analysis. Demonstrated ability to collect requirements, design, develop, test, and implement financial management systems. Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional teams.Additional Requirements: Successful candidates must complete the Department's Security Awareness Training within 30 calendar days of hire.
