From: Sankhi Tudu, Vyze Inc [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job title:- Jr Mainframe Developer Location:- Lincoln, NE- Hybrid Duration:- 12 MONTHS MOI: Skype Requirements: * Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or hold a Technical Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education and minimum 5+ years development experience). * Explore and gain a thorough understanding of the business. * Troubleshoot problems and provide support on existing products and services. * Work as part of a software development team in the implementation of projects. * Perform daily tasks of analysis, programming and testing as needed. * Assist with; capturing business requirements, design, system architecture and development. * Maintain legacy applications (minor new development) in Micro Focus Cobol, Cobol and CICS that interact with the Department's Information Systems. * Must have most recent experience within the last year coding programs in COBOL. * Experience with SQL utilizing DB2 accessing by programs, writing queries in QMF and creating tables is required. * Experience with JCL and job scheduling is required. * Experience in software development utilizing Agile with SCRUM is desired but not required. * Perform front-end, middle-tier and back-end development. * Skilled in troubleshooting and weighing relative costs and benefits of potential actions. * Extremely detailed oriented and able to follow Department standards, methodologies, principles and processes. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Candidate is offered hybrid work schedule with 2 days on-site at Department of Transportation, Lincoln, NE. (no exceptions) * Regular and reliable attendance is required. Experience with: * Cobol and CICS.
