Familiarity with infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). Knowledge of on-premise private cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, VMware). Experience with hybrid cloud architectures that integrate public and private clouds, including tools for connectivity like VPNs, direct connections, and SD-WANs. 1. IP Networking: Strong understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, and routing. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs): Expertise in creating, configuring, and managing site-to-site and client-to-site VPNs. 2 Software-Defined Networking (SDN): Familiarity with SDN tools, such as VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, or AWS VPC, which offer programmable network infrastructures. Load Balancing & Traffic Management: Knowledge of application delivery controllers (ADCs) and load balancing techniques (e.g., AWS ELB, Azure Load Balancer). Network Security: Deep understanding of firewalls, security groups, Network Access Control Lists (NACLs), and security best practices. 3. Cloud Networking Components Cloud VPCs (Virtual Private Clouds): Design and implementation of isolated networks within cloud environments, creating subnets, routing tables, and peering connections. Cloud Direct Connect/ExpressRoute: Expertise in creating direct, private connections between on-premises data centers and cloud providers for better bandwidth and latency. Hybrid Connectivity: Experience setting up hybrid connections, such as VPN tunnels and AWS Direct Connect, or Azure ExpressRoute. Cloud Networking Automation: Automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure ARM templates for provisioning network resources. 4. Automation & Scripting Automation Tools: Experience with tools like Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation for automating cloud infrastructure and networking configurations. Scripting Languages: Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or Power) to automate and troubleshoot network operations. 5. Security & Compliance Cloud Security: Understanding of cloud security principles such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, threat detection, and monitoring. Network Security Policies: Experience setting up network security policies within cloud environments, including the use of firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), and security groups. Compliance Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2, with a focus on network security aspects. 6. Monitoring & Troubleshooting Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with cloud-native monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Stackdriver) to track network performance and availability. Troubleshooting Network Issues: Experience using diagnostic tools like traceroute, ping, and AWS VPC Flow Logs to troubleshoot networking issues. 7. DevOps & CI/CD Integration CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with integrating networking components into DevOps workflows. Experience in managing infrastructure through CI/CD pipelines. GitOps: Familiarity with GitOps practices to manage cloud infrastructure using Git repositories. 8. High Availability & Disaster Recovery HA Architectures: Experience in designing and implementing fault-tolerant and high-availability network architectures in the cloud, such as multi-availability zone deployments. Disaster Recovery: Knowledge of cloud disaster recovery strategies, including VPC failover, backup configurations, and multi-region architectures. Certifications- Not mandatory but desired Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer.
