Data Modeler Senior (2 roles) Location: Onsite (Hybrid) in McLean, VA on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Work Authorization: USC GC Years of experience: 12+ USA experience Interview information : Rounds: Single Duration: 60 minutes Interview Type: MS Teams, Video Mandatory This is not a DBA role nor a Data Architect role. This is a hands-on data modeling role using 250 different models working with 40 different teams. Communication skills must be 10/10 (both written and verbal). 7+ years of experience is required. ER Studio and Erwin are the primary tools used. Very high preference for these tools. Candidates must start working in EST hours but can be flexible once they get used to the team. Most models are Third Normal Form (3NF) and mostly in a MongoDB environment. This is a long-term role. HM prefers candidates who can convert or at least be able to stay long term. Must Have Qualifications: Solid Data Modeling, Strong Collaboration, Visio, SharePoint, Excel, Fixed income knowledge, financial industry background. Technical background is a plus Our Impact: The Clients Division supports the liquidity of the mortgage markets and makes funding more available by purchasing mortgage-related securities guaranteed by the Client and other financial institutions in its investment portfolio. The business supports all the technology for this division (200+ applications). Role & Responsibilities: Inventory and create project specific technical documentation for data software and hardware solutions in place. Specify required interlocks between specific applications/systems and/or other divisional applications or processes. Create project artifacts and recommendations for Architecture & Leads to determine modernization and migration strategies for databases, platforms, APIs etc. Collect and write detailed data transformation process requirements. Create and maintain technical, process and data-related documentation. Qualifications: Understanding of data modeling. Degree in software engineering, data science, data and systems transformations preferred, with 7 10 years of relevant work experience. Outstanding quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent presentation, communication and writing skills specifically software and technical documentation. Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications. Experience working with different databases and understanding of data. Strong data and financial analytical skills; Ability to quickly understand complex financial concepts; Mortgage industry experience preferred.
