Job Title: Cloud/DevOps Engineer (AWS) Hybrid | Reston, VA
Location: Hybrid Reston, VA (Onsite requirement TBD)
Employment Type: Contract (C2C/W2)
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Cloud/DevOps Engineer (AWS) with prior experience at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure (on-prem & cloud hybrid), AWS Cloud Computing (certification required), and DevOps methodologies. This role involves supporting critical application and infrastructure operations, incident management, and leading automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support for complex application and infrastructure tasks, incidents, and changes.
Design, implement, and oversee enterprise-level IT systems and services.
Lead critical incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis.
Work closely with business, development, and management teams to make informed decisions.
Develop automation scripts, dashboards, and observability tools to increase operational efficiency.
Lead the implementation of cloud security, system operations, and DevOps best practices.
Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to maintain system integrity.
Top Required Skills & Qualifications:
AWS Cloud Certification
ITIL Certification (Required)
10+ years of experience in cloud operations, engineering, and development/scripting
Strong expertise in at least two of the following areas and intermediate knowledge in at least three:
Cloud Architecture
Security Framework
System Operations
Networking
Databases
Development/DevOps
Experience with Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting & documentation
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
