Job Title: Senior Synapse Data Engineer Location: Durham NC -Hybrid Employment Type: Contract Job Summary: Key Responsibilities: Azure Synapse Analytics: Develop and maintain data models in Synapse for reporting and analytics. Design and implement ETL solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics Pipelines and dedicated SQL pools to extract, transform, and aggregate data from Salesforce objects. Analyze source systems and design efficient ETL data loads. Create and configure Azure Synapse Analytics workspaces. Develop pipelines using Linked Services, Datasets, and Pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources. Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data architecture and pipelines. Contribute to cloud infrastructure and security (Azure Storage, Networking, Security, Cost Management). Power BI & Data Visualization: Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and design dashboards and reports. Provide training on self-service BI tools. Salesforce & MuleSoft Integration: Understand Salesforce object and data structures. Design and implement data integrations between Salesforce and Azure Synapse using APIs, ETL tools, and platforms like MuleSoft and Azure Data Factory. Utilize Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP), Apex, and Lightning Web Components. Work with integration tools like MuleSoft, Informatica, or similar. Data Governance & Compliance: Implement and maintain best practices for data governance, security, and compliance. Maintain data documentation (data model updates, data dictionary upkeep). Required Qualifications & Skills: Azure Synapse Analytics experience (designing, developing, and managing Synapse pipelines). Experience with Azure Data Platform (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database). Familiarity with Event Hubs, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions. Strong knowledge of Data Modeling and Warehousing (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema). Expertise in ETL/ELT processes. Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and data query optimization. Experience with Salesforce integrations and APIs. Knowledge of integration tools (MuleSoft, Informatica, etc.). Experience with DevOps and CI/CD (Git, automation tools). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform. Cloud computing experience with AWS and Azure for data processing and storage. Knowledge of Power BI and Lightning Web Components for Salesforce reports. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cloud Security Best Practices. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
