Senior System Administrator - Mainframe Application Support Location: NYC ( on-site) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to maintain and support our legacy Integrated Property Information System (IPIS) mainframe applications. This role involves ensuring the system's seamless operation, enabling Real Estate Services (RES) users to manage critical processes such as tenant statements, lease information, payment tracking, and property acquisitions. The candidate will also support the transition from legacy mainframe systems to modern platforms, including CRM Dynamics, SharePoint, and Archibus, collaborating with internal teams and external consultants. Key Responsibilities System Maintenance and Administration: Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of the current IPIS mainframe applications. Data Extraction and Transport: Extract data as text files from mainframe applications using tools such as ADABAS, Natural, CICS, MAS, COBOL, VSAM, JCL, and TSO. Transport data to Windows servers using UC4 file transfer. Data Integration: Load data into CRM/Dynamics 365 from SQL servers using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), KingswaySoft data tools, and Microsoft Visual Studio integration services projects. System Transition Support: Collaborate with stakeholders to support the transition from legacy systems to the new platform, ensuring smooth data migration and process continuity. System Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve system feature issues and process disruptions to maintain uninterrupted system operations. Collaboration and Documentation: Participate in system analysis, design, and requirements sessions, demonstrating technical expertise in data and database design for system development and solutioning. Core Technologies Mainframe Technologies: ADABAS, Natural, CICS, MAS, COBOL, VSAM, IDCAMS, SORT, File Manager, JCL, TSO Integration Tools: UC4 File Transfer, KingswaySoft Data Tools Database Technologies: SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Queries, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Development Platforms: Microsoft Visual Studio, Azure/Git, CRM/Dynamics 365 Mandatory Skills & Experience Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience transitioning legacy systems to modern technology. Proven experience across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production support. At least 5 years of experience with SQL Server and related tools. Strong technical understanding of data structures and database design for system development and integration. Desirable Skills & Experience Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization with SQL Server. Experience in data mapping and conversion processes. Familiarity with COBOL, SAS, REXX, or .NET is a plus. Proficiency with collaboration tools such as SharePoint and MS OneDrive for project artifacts. DevOps and JIRA experience preferred.
