Experience working with an online marketplace (both b2b and b2c) this platform will be a high-traffic, lead generation website

The B2C component are the individuals like you and me who may submit a query through the platform to use their financial advisor services (this is the lead generation component)
The B2B component is that the company will package the consumer leads and sell the consumer leads to financial advisor companies

Scope of role:

While there are initial requirements already outlined/documented, this person will be instrumental in the product strategy/roadmap and execution with an outsourced engineering team.
This person will also have to understand the technical side, in terms of how to build data database, how to build a lead gen system (analytics tracking). i.e. tag management/adding tags to the website, and event tracking (how to capture consumers, click IDs, and track that revenue back to a conversion on the website) they use Segment.

We are currently building our newest venture in the personal finance space. Getting personalized financial advice as a consumer is incredibly difficult. With unique individual circumstances, even the most financially literate individuals still struggle to manage their personal finances, maximize their financial return, or get answers to specific finance-related questions. While there are a wealth of professional services that can assist with these needs, finding and sourcing trustworthy financial advice remains a challenge, and especially for those consumers without network connections to financial professionals. Meanwhile, the financial experts who can provide the best guidance have difficulty finding these consumers in need and spend a significant amount of time seeking these individuals, as opposed to servicing them.

As such, this new venture is a financial advisory platform that matches individuals with active needs to professional financial advisors (CFPs, RIAs) who can help them solve immediate problems and map out pathways towards achieving long-term goals. We serve as an authoritative consumer destination for personal finance advice and work directly with top-tier registered investment advisors as a business development partner.

Job Description

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead, manage and execute the product strategy for an exciting new stealth venture that will solve these pain points by connecting consumers with financial advisory professionals that fit their needs.

This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with Wilbur Labs to define and achieve the product vision for a well-funded new venture that millions of consumers will interact with.

The Product Manager will step into a central role as part of a lean founding team to drive technical strategy, design, QA, development, deployment, and measurement of all product-related initiatives as the business builds towards the launch of the MVP and beyond.

They will collaborate with the existing team, including advisors, subject matter experts, and Wilbur Labs studio members and be a hands-on, detail-oriented contributor, overseeing the full product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:

Product Scoping, Prioritization, and Roadmap - Own the company-wide product roadmap for the build of the MVP, aligning with all stakeholders to ensure projects have the optimal prioritization. Once priorities are identified and agreed to, provide dev-ready scope, vetted by internal parties, along with accurate estimations of timing and cost.

Product Design, Development, and QA - Lead product design and development by sourcing new product ideas, and researching/presenting optimal paths to create and develop product experiences that focus on delivering best-in-class user experiences and stronger customer conversion outcomes. Define product requirements and manage implementation from end to end, including writing technical specifications, collaborating with engineering, overseeing QA, and measuring impact.
Testing/Experimentation & Measurement - Develop and implement testing initiatives to drive a frictionless path to conversion and deliver excellent user experience. Focus on the data coming out of each product release and testing initiative and own the ongoing measurement to inform adjustments to new experience and future projects.
Product Dev Resources - Direct activities of development teams and corresponding staffing (full-time, contractor), including experience working with remote international contributors. Establish the optimal balance of resources across disciplines to meet our product development goals on time and at cost, with a focus on flexibility and scaling as needed.
Product Financial Management - Help inform and manage to the product development budget and investment, providing recommendations and projections as to project costs, including human and technical resources.
Cross-Functional Alignment / Executive Leadership - Work with cross-functional partner groups: Growth/Marketing team, BI, and Finance functions, and develop tight coordination with external partner and supplier teams, to ensure alignment of prioritization and resources as well as to identify any current or potential roadblocks to delivery of product goals.

Minimum Qualifications

         5+ years of technical product management experience

o   Experience across both hands-on product management as well as developing broader strategic initiatives and product roadmaps.

         Experience working with an online marketplace (both b2b and b2c) this platform will be a high-traffic, lead generation website

         Technical and business competence managing product development on web (desktop and mobile)

         Data-oriented and analytically fluent; philosophy of making data-driven decisions

         Experience tracking event-based reporting (e.g. Mixpanel designing events, build-in segments) and tag management.

         Strong hands-on product development lifecycle experience with a focus on Agile delivery and a comfort working with 3rd party integrations and APIs

         Experience and comfort managing and collaborating with engineering resources

         Strong understanding of ROI- and LOE-based prioritization and experience with overseeing budgets to deliver projects on time and at cost.

         Versatile self-starter who will thrive in an ambiguous startup environment

         A focus on detail and organization to enable smooth workflow across distributed teams.

         BA/BS degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications & Prior Experience:

Expert knowledge in consumer lead generation UX/UI
Experience implementing and leveraging low code tools to develop efficient technical solutions
Prior startup experience working at an early-stage company
Demonstrated interest in consumer web products in the financial services vertical
Previous experience with partnerships or business development is a plus;
