This role is crucial in providing an exceptional developer experience, ensuring reliability, and automating repetitive tasks to reduce manual support. Youll work as part of a fast-paced, engineering-focused team, designing and implementing solutions that improve system reliability, observability, and efficiency. Your focus will be on automating support tasks, enhancing system performance, and engineering solutions that eliminate recurring issues at the source. Key Responsibilities: Engineer automation solutions to reduce support overhead, such as single-click rebuilds, service discovery, and observability enhancements for our Linux VDI offering. Manage and troubleshoot Linux systems, including Kerberos, Active Directory integration, NFS, and networking components. Develop and maintain Ansible-based automation for configuration management, provisioning, and infrastructure as code (IaC). Improve CI/CD pipelines and streamline image creation and management using Packer, Terraform, and Docker. Support and enhance remote connectivity solutions, Citrix environments, and API Gateways. Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to optimize Linux-based desktop environments and ensure seamless software development workflows. Create and maintain documentation, FAQs, and self-service support resources to empower the developer community. Participate in on-premises and cloud infrastructure projects, with exposure to AWS or Azure as a plus. Required Skills & Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux Systems Engineer, preferably in a development-focused environment. Strong expertise in Linux (Ubuntu preferred, but RHEL experience is transferable). Automation mindset, with experience in Ansible (primary automation platform), Terraform, and Packer. Experience with Git pipelines, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Deep understanding of Kerberos, Active Directory, authentication protocols, and networking. VDI and Citrix experience in supporting Linux-based desktop environments. Ability to troubleshoot and engineer solutions for Linux authentication, NFS issues, and developer tooling challenges. Python scripting skills for automation and system management (Power experience is a plus). Strong problem-solving mindset ability to engineer away support needs by fixing issues at the root level. Nice-to-Have Skills: Exposure to financial services environments. Experience with Cribl for observability.
