MUST HAVE; KEY QUALIFICATIONS Experience with biopharmaceutical process modeling (mechanistic/hybrid modeling, chemometric modeling e.g. PAT Raman) and process control. Strong understanding of cell culture/bioreactor operation is a plus. Experience with advanced data analysis/programming e.g. Python. Master - at least 3 years of professional exp; PhD - 1 year of prof exp. Hybrid role with at least 3 days/week in office. Open to candidates relocating at their own expense, but would like the candidate to start asap. Soft skills : Ability to collaborate with different functions, teamwork, strong contributor, Must have excellent communication skills! Understanding GMP or quality systems and numerical methods Top 3 must haves , If possible, are the first 2 bullets under the key qualification area of the job description; Nice to have - Digital modeling but has some hands-off experimental activities along with modeling; ability to develop in an experimental plan to draw conclusions and collaboration with others; Description: MSAT Process Data Science & Digital Transformation (MSAT DSD) is a transversal team within the Global MSAT organization. MSAT DSD is the data/digital DNA within the processes allowing us to ensure best in class manufacturing & analytical processes, especially by focusing on data/digital innovations & excellence, aiming to guarantee acceleration and securing launches & improvement as well as sustainability for our current processes. The Process Engineer III position is in DSD Mechanistic Modeling & Process Control group. The group develops and implements advanced process modeling and technologies (e.g. Digital twins, PAT) to enable our Client to better understand, monitor, and control the manufacturing operations, and deliver innovative, robust, and cost-effective next-generation processes. The group is highly cross functional in its interactions across R&D and manufacturing, and provides scientific, technical, process engineering expertise to these organizations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will support Sanofi global biologics manufacturing sites and other MSAT functional groups with development and implementation of process modeling and new technologies for improved process tech transfer/scale-up, monitoring and control strategies: Develop mechanistic/hybrid models to understand and predict the behavior of Drug Substance (DS) upstream/downstream or Drug Product (DP) processes. Develop and implement advanced process modeling and technologies (e.g. Digital twins, PAT Raman) to achieve RFT process tech transfer/scale-up and enable real-time process monitoring/control. Support process investigations and improvement with modeling expertise and process knowledge. Collaborate with colleagues and external partners from various functions, such as R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Digital. KEY QUALIFICATIONS Experience with biopharmaceutical process modeling (mechanistic/hybrid modeling, chemometric modeling e.g. PAT Raman) and process control. Strong understanding of cell culture/bioreactor operation is a plus. Experience with advanced data analysis/programming e.g. Python. Master/PhD degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or related engineering/science discipline. 3+ years of relevant experience.
