From: Santhoshi, HAN IT Staffing [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Role Name: GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine ) Engineer - Onsite (Need Only Local) Location: 999 lake drive, Issaquah, WA, USA Job Description Key Responsibilities: GKE Cluster Management: o Deploy and manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters and related infrastructure. o Ensure the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters, handling tasks such as scaling, upgrading, and patching. o Implement and manage cluster autoscaling, cost optimization, and monitoring solutions. Container Orchestration: o Design and implement containerized application solutions using Kubernetes. o Define and manage Kubernetes resources such as Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, and Secrets. o Work with development teams to ensure smooth deployment pipelines and workflows for containerized applications. Cloud Infrastructure: o Collaborate with cloud engineers to design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). o Optimize infrastructure for reliability, availability, and performance in a cloud-native environment. CI/CD Pipeline Integration: o Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment to GKE. o Integrate Kubernetes deployment strategies (e.g., rolling updates, canary releases) into continuous delivery workflows. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: o Implement monitoring and alerting for GKE clusters using tools such as Prometheus, Stackdriver, or Grafana. o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters, containers, and cloud infrastructure. Security: o Implement security best practices for GKE environments, including role-based access control (RBAC), network policies, and service mesh architectures. o Ensure compliance with security requirements and participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts. Collaboration: o Work closely with developers, system administrators, and DevOps teams to optimize deployment processes and ensure smooth operation of containerized applications. o Provide technical support and guidance to team members regarding GKE and Kubernetes. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience working with Kubernetes and container orchestration systems. o Strong experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). o Experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments using Kubernetes. Technical Expertise: o Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. o Familiarity with GKE services, including Autoscaler, Load Balancing, Networking, and IAM. o Experience with cloud-native tools and services (e.g., Helm, Istio, Prometheus, Stackdriver). o Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Programming & Scripting: o Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar. o Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Cloud Build. Cloud & DevOps Skills: o Strong understanding of DevOps principles, automation, and cloud-native architectures. o Proficient in using GCP services like Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, and Identity & Access Management (IAM). Soft Skills: o Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. o Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively. o Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: o Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Associate Cloud Engineer. o Kubernetes Certification (CKA/CKAD) is a plus.
