Duration: 12+ Contract with possible extension/conversion

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Data Center Technician with 5+ years of hands-on experience in production data centers, structured cabling, and hardware installations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for network cabling, security devices, fiber
and copper cabling, hardware installations, and troubleshooting while adhering to ITIL best practices. This role requires a strong technical background in Level 1 and 2 support, ServiceNow ticketing, and OS troubleshooting.

Candidate Needs to Have:

5+ years of experience working in a production data center environment.

Strong expertise in structured cabling, fiber optic installation, and copper cable testing.

Hands-on experience with network cabling, security devices, and hardware installation.

Knowledge of Windows OS and basic troubleshooting for servers and network systems.

Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing system for incident tracking and resolution.

ITIL Certification (preferred) with experience in IT service management processes.

Job Responsibility:

Data Center Operations & Support

Perform Level 1 & Level 2 technical support for hardware, network, and operating system issues.

Ensure proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center hardware and network equipment.

Monitor and respond to data center incidents, documenting and resolving issues via ServiceNow.

Network & Cabling Management

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems including fiber and copper cabling.

Perform fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing, ensuring high-performance connectivity.

Conduct copper cable testing and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Security & Hardware Installation

Install and configure security devices, servers, and network hardware in the data center.

Ensure proper rack installation and cable management for organized and efficient infrastructure.

Assist with IT asset tracking, documentation, and hardware lifecycle management.

ITIL & ServiceNow Integration

Follow ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.

Utilize ServiceNow for tracking tickets, asset management, and workflow automation.

Ensure compliance with data center security and operational procedures.
