Role: Data Engineer Location: PLANO, TX Hire type: Contract Job description: Job summary: We are seeking a Lead Analyst with 10 to 12 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Spark in Scala, Spark, and SparkSQL. This hybrid role requires a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. The position does not require travel and operates during day shifts. Required Skills: SparkSQL, Spark, Spark in Scala Responsibilities: - Lead the development and implementation of geospatial data processing solutions using Spark in Scala, Spark, and SparkSQL. Oversee the integration of geospatial data from various sources to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Provide technical guidance and support to team members in the use of Spark technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize geospatial data workflows. Develop and maintain documentation for geospatial data processes and solutions. Conduct data analysis to identify trends and insights that support business objectives. Ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of geospatial data systems. Implement best practices for data management, including data governance and security. Monitor and troubleshoot geospatial data processing pipelines to resolve issues promptly. Stay updated with the latest advancements in geospatial technologies and Spark ecosystem. Contribute to the continuous improvement of data processing methodologies and tools. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their geospatial data needs and requirements. Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and approaches to enhance geospatial data capabilities. Qualifications - Must have strong experience in Spark in Scala, Spark, and SparkSQL. Should have a solid understanding of geospatial data concepts and technologies. Nice to have experience with data integration and ETL processes. Must possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Should have the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work model. Nice to have experience with cloud platforms and big data technologies. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Should be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively. Nice to have experience with data governance and security practices. Must be proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Should have a passion for innovation and continuous learning. Nice to have experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools. Must be committed to delivering high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
