Role: Data Governance Specialist (Oil & Gas Industry)Background Location: Houston Onsite Duration: Contract Position Overview: We are seeking a Data Governance Specialist with experience in the Oil & Gas industry and a foundational understanding of SAP to join our team. This role will be critical in ensuring the integrity, security, and compliance of data across the organization. You will work closely with data stewards, IT teams, and business units to develop and implement data governance frameworks that support operational efficiency and regulatory requirements within the Oil & Gas industry. Key Responsibilities: Data Governance Framework Development: Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures specific to the Oil & Gas industry. Work with business and IT teams to ensure data quality, security, and compliance are maintained across systems, including SAP. Design and promote best practices for data management throughout the data lifecycle (acquisition, storage, access, and disposal). Data Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate data quality metrics, ensuring that Oil & Gas-specific data (e.g., production, exploration, regulatory compliance) meets business requirements. Collaborate with business units to identify and resolve data quality issues. Data Integration and SAP Support: Assist in integrating various data sources, ensuring that SAP systems are aligned with business data requirements and industry standards. Provide basic support and troubleshooting for SAP-related data management tasks, ensuring seamless data flow and accuracy. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to industry regulations (e.g., environmental, safety, financial) by ensuring data governance policies comply with Oil & Gas regulatory standards. Create and maintain reports and dashboards for data governance metrics, highlighting areas for improvement. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders, including business users, data stewards, and IT teams, to drive data governance initiatives. Conduct training and workshops on data governance best practices for employees and stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging trends in data governance and industry-specific standards.
