Sr Linux System Administrator Durham NC -Hybrid Locals prefers Long term contract Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) on AWS. Deploy, configure, and manage AWS services (EC2, S3, FSx, EBS). Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability. Manage OS patches, system backups, and vulnerability assessments. Implement security controls, encryption, and compliance measures. Automate system tasks using Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, Bash, and Python. Configure and maintain Linux networking, firewalls (iptables), and load balancers (HAProxy). Support image management and Linux Satellite server setup. Perform user account management and enforce security best practices. Provide on-call support for critical system issues.Required Skills & Experience: Strong experience with RHEL administration on AWS. Hands-on experience in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Expertise in cloud infrastructure and automation tools. Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and encryption technologies. Experience with volume management (LVM, ZFS, NAS, VERITAS).
