This role involves working on GIS database enhancements, maintenance, and migrations, contributing to enterprise-level projects such as Enterprise GIS, Roads and Highways, Spot Online, NC CRIS, and ATLAS. The ideal candidate will have experience with Esri product suite and a solid understanding of database technologies. Note: The candidate will be allowed to work remotely for the duration of the engagement. Contractors residing outside North Carolina will not be issued state computer equipment. They must use DITs Citrix Remote PC system and their personal or vendor-provided computer equipment to access DITs systems. Expected Skills: Conceptual modeling of systems, databases, and workflow processes Documentation and technical writing Proficiency with the Esri Product Suite Key Responsibilities: Follow guidance from senior GIS DBAs to support a variety of activities, including product development, maintenance, customer support, and tool development. Work with Esri data types, including SDE, data governance, and geospatial metadata concepts. Apply knowledge of general GIS concepts related to data, analysis, and editing while leveraging database technologies. Collaborate with senior-level technical staff and decision-makers to formulate solutions and work independently with customers to gather requirements and develop solutions. Support the production, distribution, and communication of GISU quarterly publication products. Qualifications & Experience: 3-5 years of GIS database administration experience. Hands-on experience with Esri products and GIS database concepts. Knowledge of spatial data management, metadata, and data governance. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to document processes effectively.
