Please let me know if you are interested in the position Title: Systems Engineer (Linux, Windows, AWS, Azure) Location:Fully Remote(CST/PST) Duration: 6 months contract Visa Restrictions: No H1b/CPT Job Description: Required Experience and Skills: We are seeking an Experienced Windows/Linux Engineer with a strong background in operating system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring seamless upgrades with minimal downtime. This role requires in-depth troubleshooting, automation, and system optimization skills, along with experience in enterprise IT environments. Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, and manage Windows and Linux OS upgrades across enterprise environments. Perform system migrations, patching, and security hardening to maintain compliance and best practices. Troubleshoot OS-related performance issues, compatibility concerns, and post-upgrade challenges. Automate system deployment and configuration using Power, Bash, Ansible, or similar tools. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure smooth upgrades with minimal business disruption. Implement and maintain high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and backup strategies. Manage OS lifecycle, including end-of-life transitions, security updates, and vendor support coordination. Work with virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure) to optimize infrastructure. Document upgrade processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference. Support IT security teams by ensuring systems adhere to compliance and cybersecurity requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications 12+ years of experience in Windows and Linux system administration. Expertise in Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.). Hands-on experience with OS patching, kernel upgrades, and security configurations. Proficiency in automation and scripting using Power, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform. Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, and authentication protocols. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V). Familiarity with load balancing, clustering, and high-availability solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills in networking, storage, and system performance tuning. Experience working in enterprise environments with strict compliance and security standards. Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Certifications such as RHCE, LFCS, MCSE, or AWS/Linux/Windows-related certifications are a plus.
