Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Architect to design, develop, and implement robust security systems that protect our organizations IT network. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity architecture, with a focus on designing secure, scalable, and effective systems to safeguard our critical assets. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cybersecurity architecture, including the integration of security technologies, processes, and policies that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational data.
Key Responsibilities:
Cybersecurity Architecture Design: Develop and implement security architectures that safeguard an organization's information technology (IT) network.
System Integration: Design systems that integrate people, processes, and technologies to ensure comprehensive protection against security threats.
Security Components Management: Oversee the use and management of critical security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), antivirus and antimalware software, virtual private networks (VPNs), encryption, SIEM systems, and endpoint security.
Security Audits: Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the continuous improvement of security practices.
Risk Management: Perform regular risk assessments to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and impacts, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure the organizations cybersecurity architecture complies with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity technologies and incorporate them into the security architecture to enhance protection.
Business Continuity & Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response plans to ensure business continuity and minimize downtime during security incidents.
Employee Awareness & Training: Provide training and awareness programs to staff to foster a culture of cybersecurity within the organization.
Network Segmentation: Implement network segmentation strategies to limit the exposure of critical systems and data.
Access Control & Security Policies: Design access control mechanisms, and ensure that security policies and procedures are developed and followed across the organization.
Essential Skills:
Proven Expertise in Cybersecurity Architecture: In-depth knowledge of the key components of cybersecurity architecture, including firewalls, IDPS, VPNs, SIEM, endpoint security, encryption, and access controls.
Security Frameworks & Standards Compliance: Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and security posture.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Expertise in conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to minimize cybersecurity risks across IT infrastructure.
Incident Response Planning: Experience in developing and implementing incident response plans to ensure a swift and effective response to security breaches.
Security Audits & Vulnerability Assessments: Proven ability to perform regular security audits, identify system vulnerabilities, and apply necessary patches and updates.
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and data to identify potential security weaknesses and design protective measures.
Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working cross-functionally and explaining complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: Passion for continuous learning and improvement, keeping up-to-date with emerging cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threats.
Desirable Skills:
Cloud Security Knowledge: Familiarity with securing cloud infrastructures and services, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA would be an advantage.
Agile Methodology Experience: Experience in working in Agile environments and understanding of agile principles applied to security architecture.
Taxonomy Experience: Hands-on experience with cybersecurity taxonomy, and organizing and classifying cybersecurity threats and responses.
Competencies:
Cybersecurity Expertise: Strong foundation in protecting critical IT infrastructure from both internal and external threats.
Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing and leading security teams and driving security initiatives across the organization.
Experience (Years):
6-8 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on architecture and system design.
