Data Pipeline Reliability Engineers help to ensure our customers missions are supported with updated and accurate data. When something goes wrong, Data Pipeline Reliability Engineers are the first to respond and are responsible for triaging, troubleshooting, and coordinating the resolution of the issue. Whatever the technical issue is, youll play a central and critical role in resolving it seeking not just a one-time fix, but a permanent solution. Core Responsibilities Develop a deep understanding of Palantir's products and processes. Diagnose, resolve, and prevent issues encountered in the field. Collaborate with customer-facing teams to increase the scalability and reliability of data pipelines for our customers. Reduce the operational overhead of production workflows and leverage data to understand the largest sources of reliability risk. Take part in a 24/7 on-call rotation responsible for coordinating Palantirs response to mission-critical incidents, ensuring efficient resolution with minimal customer impact. *Active work not required on weekends or out of hours, however due to the nature of on-call, the person must be available to respond if there is a critical outage during their assigned on-call weeks. After 2 on-call weekends the engineer will receive 1 day off. What We Value Comfortable reading and writing code in Python, Java, and SQL. Understanding of parallel data processing and basics of optimizing Spark jobs is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail through effective prioritization. Comfort working in a fast moving environment with dynamic objectives that require creative thinking to address product and customer needs. Ability to work both independently and make decisions under minimal supervision, as well as collaborate as part of a team. Practical experience with performing root cause analysis and documenting lessons learned from production incidents. What We Require Secret Clearance or above, with the willingness and eligibility to obtain a TS clearance. Located within commutable distance to Palantirs DC or NYC office. Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other technical field.
