The Juniper Travel Network Engineer participates in and/or leads network infrastructure assessments and site survey projects for the customer enterprise in prep for network transformations from hashtag#Cisco_to_Juniper. The goal for this team is to physically install 6-8 VA Clinics and Medical Centers per month. Travel will include approx. 26 site visits (CONUS) for 50% per month and follow federal travel guidelines. Expertise in network technologies such as local area networks (hashtag#LAN), wide area networks (hashtag#WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks including Software Defined Networks (hashtag#SDN) and Quality of Service. Knowledge of hashtag#Palo_Alto Firewalls, hashtag#Up_Logix LM83(x), Cisco LAN 9500 and 9300s Seasoned with Juniper hashtag#MIST and hashtag#XLM Must have experience implementing Cisco to Juniper network transformations Must be familiar with types of cabling, interfaces and accurate connectivity to other devices Ability to add IP addresses Must evaluate network design and configuration baselines and standards. Performs work that will include a variety of complex features and require multi- or interdisciplinary approaches. Examples of other activities include the following: o Evaluate network performance reports and provide network consulting support o Engineer / re-engineer network consistent with customer service level requirements and approved requirements document (i.e. IPv6, multi-VRF, QOS, etc.) o Plan logical addressing, redundancy, capacity (logical & physical). o Provide technical information for, and final technical editing of, all documents and proposals Works at an enterprise level and in cross-functional teams to assist with the development of strategic and enterprise plans. Must have great, customer-focused, team-oriented communications and consultative skills, be highly accountable, be self-directed and productive with strong work ethic, be willing to show presence and availability on IM during business hours. MUST be fully COVID vaccinated and negative TB test. US Veterans or Vets in families are preferred. as a minimum of 15 years experience in an IT-related role. Evidence of subject matter expert level. Juniper MIST Certification. Innovative with curiosity and desire to stay abreast of ongoing technology and software US Citizen and able to pass a background check, drug screening, and obtain a Public Trust.
