Installation Technicians: (Information from the client)

We understand youre looking for strong Cisco phone technical knowledge. How
many years of experience with Cisco phones would you like to see 

o At least 2 years 

Outside of a strong Cisco phone background, what are the top 3-5 skills the
candidate must have 

o Minimum of two years experience in IT support or helpdesk roles. o
Functional knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). 

o Exceptional troubleshooting skills in Windows environments, ranging from
intermediate to advanced levels. 

o Experience in PC hardware and software troubleshooting. 

o Familiarity with Microsoft Intune and its functionalities is preferred. 

o Excellent customer service skills with an ability to communicate effectively
across all levels of the organization. 

o High aptitude for learning and adapting to new technologies quickly. 

o Must have initiative and the ability to independently solve problems and
improve processes. 

What are the preferred skills o Enthusiastic about technological
advancements and keen to continuously improve skills. 

o A team player with excellent interpersonal skills. 

o Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced
environment. 

Will they be working alone or as part of a larger team doing PC configuration
& installations 

o They will be part of a larger team responsible for PC configuration,
installations, and troubleshooting. 

Are there any certifications or qualities which would make a candidate stand
out 

o A+ certification, Network+ certification, MTA certification 

o High school diploma or college

Roles/Responsibilities: 

    First-Level Support and Issue Escalation: Functions as
the primary interface for initial troubleshooting of software, hardware, and
telephony systems, with proficiency in escalating Tier 2 and Tier 3 issues to
appropriate IT specialists.

    Ensures client satisfaction by providing high-level,
clear communication channels and sophisticated problem-resolution techniques.

    Analytical and Diagnostic Skills: Applies methodical
analytical approaches to diagnose underlying problems in desktop and network
infrastructures during user interactions.

    Expert in systematic troubleshooting and fault
isolation across a range of IT assets.

    Ticketing System Management: Manages and monitors the
ticketing system (Cherwell), ensuring timely responses and proper ticket
assignment.

    Facilitates the creation and follow-up of service
tickets, escalating complex issues as needed.

    Technical Proficiency: Proficient in various
applications including Cisco Communications, VPN software, Active Directory,
Windows OS, and Microsoft Office suite.

    Demonstrates troubleshooting capabilities for devices
such as computers, printers, scanners, and telephones.

    Understands network fundamentals, including firewall
rules and LAN configurations.

    Familiar with Cisco VoIP systems and cybersecurity
principles to effectively identify and mitigate security threats.

    Hardware and Software Deployment: Executes system
upgrades, installations, and comprehensive hardware configurations, alongside
reimaging within corporate IT standards.

    Implements strict hardware asset management protocols
and enforces security policies including user account controls and PCI
compliance adherence.

    Network and Security Foundations: Possesses an
understanding of PC firewall configurations and basic VoIP setup.

    Helps protect against cyber threats by identifying and
stopping potential risks based on the company's security guidelines..

    Emerging Technologies and Systems Management: Working
knowledge with Microsoft Intune for device and application management across
diverse mobile ecosystems, including Android and iOS.

    Familiar with document management systems such as
ApplicationXtender, enhancing document storage and retrieval processes.

    Research, Documentation, and Knowledge Base
Development:

    Conducts targeted technical research using specialized
search engines to enhance troubleshooting capabilities.

    Crafts detailed service documentation and procedural
guides to bolster service desk efficiency and knowledge sharing.

    Proactivity and Multitasking: Proactively addresses
pending service requests and incomplete tickets. Displays initiative and
manages multiple tasks simultaneously

    Additional Duties Willingly performs additional
responsibilities to support the IT departments objectives.

    They will be part of a larger team responsible for PC
configuration, installations, and troubleshooting.  

Mandatory Skills:   

1.    High school diploma or eqivulent, A+ Certification

2.    Minimum:   Associates Degree   or  
Network+ Certification or MTA Certification

3.    At least 2 years with Cisco

4.    1-3 years of experience in IT support, field
technician roles, or related experience. Certifications such as CompTIA A+,
Network+, or equivalent are a plus.

5.    Functional knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications
Manager (CUCM).

6.    Exceptional troubleshooting skills in Windows
environments, ranging from intermediate to advanced levels.

7.    Experience in PC hardware and software
troubleshooting.

8.    Familiarity with Microsoft Intune and its
functionalities is preferred.
