The team is working on enhancing the Conexus application, which supports pharmacy operations. The role will primarily involve backend development, building new APIs, and integrating machine learning and AI functionality into the product to help improve the customer experience.Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services and APIs for the Conexus application. Contribute to the design and development of microservices using Java, with a focus on scalability and performance. Leverage cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) to deploy and manage services and APIs. Work closely with product teams to implement features like destination recommendation and machine learning/AI integrations. Ensure secure and efficient API development, adhering to industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver product features by key deadlines (e.g., Flu season readiness by August).Skills and Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in Java backend development, with strong expertise in Spring Boot and related frameworks. Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and API development. Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure or GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). Strong understanding of API security, including OAuth, JWT, and other authentication mechanisms. Prior experience in building scalable backend systems, especially for enterprise-level applications. Familiarity with integrating machine learning or AI functionality into backend systems is a plus. Previous Walmart experience (especially within the Health & Wellness division) is a strong preference. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams. Agile and Scrum experience preferred.
