They want the person on-site in New York, Pittsburgh or Lake Mary. Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Product Owner to lead the development and optimization of our Instant Payment Processing platform. In this role, you will serve as the critical link between business stakeholders, customers, and the technology team, ensuring the successful delivery of innovative, secure, and scalable payment solutions. Your expertise will drive the evolution of a product that processes real-time payments with high availability and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Vision : Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for instant payment processing in alignment with the companys broader objectives. Work closely with Product Manager to write and groom user stories Manage the efforts of a software development pod including: Scrum Master and up to 10 Developers Job Requirements Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred). 5+ years of experience in a product owner or product management role, preferably in financial services or payment systems. Proven track record of managing software products in the real-time payments or financial transaction processing domain. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of instant payment systems (e.g., RTP, SEPA Instant, FedNow, SWIFT GPI) and financial messaging standards (ISO 20022). Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Scrum frameworks. Experience working with APIs, microservices architecture, and payment gateways. Basic understanding of security protocols and compliance frameworks like PCI DSS, AML, and KYC. Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with experience turning complex technical challenges into actionable solutions. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa. Skilled in gathering and defining business requirements and translating them into a prioritized product backlog. Leadership & Collaboration: Experience leading cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, QA testers, and operations. Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and maintain alignment across multiple teams and departments. Strong decision-making skills, with a customer-first mindset. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification. Experience with real-time processing platforms and high-availability systems. Knowledge of emerging technologies in the financial services space, such as blockchain, AI-driven fraud detection, and cloud-native architecture.
